Customer Feedback / Board Offline Due To Timeouts
June 25, 2008, 05:05:30 PM
I cannot get into my board due to timeouts errors:
http://freecinema.mioforo.com/

And it is very difficult to reach this support board too. Perhaps an emergency email address should be used instead?

Something has happened within last few days that has slowed everything down to the point now that timeout errors are a constant problem.

I have also noticed that when my board has problems, usually this support board does also, so it makes it very difficult to report problems quickly.
Other than the speed/time-out problem, I am very happy with the service thus far.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Can you please solve this problem.

Thank you for your time & consideration.

phpBB Support Forum / Hiding shoutbox

If you go into: Admin Panel > Stargate Portal > Manage Blocks

Then look for the ShoutBox Block and click the edit (green star)

Then look for "View By" option (four Up from bottom)

Change from "ALL" to "REG" (switch from all viewers to Registered)

Good Luck!

Customer Feedback / My Site!!~
June 18, 2008, 09:42:25 PM
No I think they are doing upgrades. I am getting the same message on my busy site, so I don't think it has been closed-down for non-use.

It will probably be back to normal before morning.

My board is offline and I'm getting:

QuoteUNAVAILABLE FORUM

This forum is currently unavailable. We are upgrading this forum. Please visit later.

This is the exact same message I got while you so kindly upgraded me from phpBB to phpBB3.

My Forum is: Unavailable Forum - Free Forum Hosting

Is there something wrong with it? Thanks!

June 11, 2008, 05:50:07 PM
Thank you very much, I thought maybe someone simply forgot to reactivate the board, my apologies - it was well worth the wait...
phpBB3 looks fantastic but quite complex.

Thank you!

Customer Feedback / Phpbb3 Update
June 10, 2008, 10:56:31 PM
Thank you very much for starting the update process on my forum from phpBB to phpBB3, however the board has been offline for 24 hours so far, is this normal? Is the email that says it would take only 8 hours outdated?

Unavailable Forum - Free Forum Hosting

I can't wait to try out all the new features. Thanks!

I, also, am interested to know what type of file the backups are.
They don't appear to be SQL.

Can anything be done about the constant time-outs when accessing our sites - I'm losing users?

Thanks.

phpBB Support Forum / Shoutbox activation

I have a couple questions that maybe other phpBB board user can answer.

1) Is there a list of MODifications to phpBB that are pre-approved by Admins?

2) I'm looking for something that would display threads within a Forum in Alphabetical order rather than the Chronological Order.

3) If I have the chatbox added can we activate/deactivate it ourselves, or do we have to get the Admins here to do that.

Thank you for your time.

I have noticed that many hosts no longer allow the installation of phpNuke sites because it slows down their servers and causes far too many SQL queries.

I was wondering if that was the cause of the site being down yesterday.

Thanks.

General Discussion / Do you like phpBB3?
May 16, 2008, 09:35:42 PM
I would like to convert to phpBB as soon as possible please.
I have used it before and it is very, very good.
In my opinion somewhere between IPB and vBulletin.

The phpBB is missing some key features that I need like display forum contents in Sorted Alphabetical Order -and- I need to be able to move a posting from one Forum Group into another.

Please upgrade me as soon as you can, Thank you:
