phpBB Support Forum / Unable to post
October 12, 2010, 07:01:57 AM
hi guys,
Dont feel bad, I can post on my forum but it takes 40-55 seconds after hitting the submit button on a 2 word post. strange thing is , that pages load just fine, but trying to pos anything means going and stting for a while...
Now on another forum I have that is with a different service , posting time is approximately 1-4 seconds, so At this point , I honestly think that they need to take down all the servers for a few hours while they eliminate the problem

Hi there king,
Have you attempted to make a post on the forum yet ? Although the forum shows posts at an average speed, making a new post is just terrible as it takes an extremely long time. Is there a setting in the ACP to fix this. I recomend you try and make a post to see what I'm talking about.

If you still do not understand what I am saying , then I'll ask it like this:

Are your servers for forums on dial-up connection ?? This kind of speed to make posts is not right (and it has nothing to do with the style )

As far as global announcements go , I can live without them  as long as the posting speed issue is fixed. (this is a php bug that occurred in previous versions)

speed is still like a turtle

perhaps the particular server the board is  using is under DOS attack ? ? ?
if this is not the case you need to update them because the speed has not changed by very much.

as for the report abuse icons I have uploaded a screenshot for you from a test account. There is suppose to be an icon on here to report the pm to moderators/admin but for this particular style it does not exist:

Thank you for your speedy response, The forum url is:

http://godbewithus.noonhost.com

The style configeration is:
3myl_sable/3myl_sable/3myl_parchemin

your welcome to log on and try and post (its excruciatingly slow).

Also, global announcements appear in a forum that is unaccessible to users no matter where they are posted.

This makes it impossible to use global announcements.

Also , if you plan on fixing these things could you possibly add an upload button for the icons and smileys and favicon?
I really want to use my own favicon and topic icons but there is no way to upload them.

hello,
I did not know if you were aware of this, but to simply make a post on my forum it takes around 35-40 seconds from the time I hit the submit button.
Even if you have to take your servers down for a few hours this needs fixed
If its not fixed I'm going to have to move my forum else where because this is kind of speed is totally unacceptable.
Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Can you tell me whitch of your forum services allow for a point system for posters (as in phpnuke, ect) or do they all have the same features.
