Can we have this mchat on out forums PlZ ForumMate ???

I have all the codes here for it.

That is not all the code for it BL@DE.....
All you have there is the "mchat_body.html", there are more html files to it than that as well as additional php files needed and edits that have to done to existing files.

Maybe there is a difference in yourforum.noonhost.com and myforum.freeforum.ca even though they are both hosted by forummate.

Have you looked into the administrator permissions to see if it needs to be clicked from no to yes

ACP > PERMISSIONS > Admin roles

Just had a check on the forummate forum I use and you should be able to back up yourself.

Have you got founder status ?......if so you should be able to make a back up.

Ok I think I have found the problem, Guests have read only permissions for the categories that the subforums for those topics are in, although they have no access to its subforums its possible that they are seeing what the topics in the subforums are (due to the read only access) but not able to read or access them (due to no access)

Its worth you having a look at this and changing them one by one checking back all the time just in case that does not work.

I will pop back later to see if that has made any difference

Over the last week a couple of members on a forum I visit have been getting pop ups appear which have nothing to do with the forums, I found out it was a type virus that had been downloaded with music/video associated files and gets in browsers.

I'm not saying this is the case with you ramook but as ForumMate says there are no pop ups like that on the forums here so it looks like you could of innocently downloaded software or files that has this bundled in with them.
Are you noticing this on any other sites or just yours ?

Hi, if you are ok till tomorrow I will recreate a similar scenario as yours on my test forum I have here and see if I can figure this out so those forum/subforum topics don't display in the active topics list.
Is there any chance you can make me an administrator so I can view how your permissions are set ?, its sometimes the quickest way if I can see what's going on first hand, you will just need to delete me from the admin group once I have done.

Did you do the same with the category " Privileged Section - Hidden " and check if active topics in subforums are displayed ?

Edit.
Got your pm and just noticed you have gone from your forum so I assume you have gone out as you said you would earlier... I will pop back later on mate.

Sorry, I didn't mentioned that they were announcements

Can you tell me what you have as in permissions for the "Privileged section- hidden" category please.

Easiest way to check is ...ACP > FORUMS > forum permissions > on the bottom one click on "Privileged section- hidden (+ subforums)"

select the user group registered user > by each of the listed sub forums click on advanced permissions, make sure each has the post tab open and take a screen shot for us.

From the index page I am able to see "Privileged Concept" with the topics PRIVATE CONVERSATIONS USED IN PUBLIC, 90 days and 100 posts later! and Priviliged Section Guidelines from the privileged section - hidden only, am I right assuming the board staff lounge and the other private forums are in there too ? If so then those permissions are set correctly

From what you say above you could have identified the problem, "Active posts"

Just give this a try
ACP > FORUMS > select those forums you mention and see if ...

Display active topics:
If set to yes topics made to this forum will be shown in the active topics list.

....is set to yes, if it is set to no and it will not display in the active topics list.

Hi mate, I will just go and read those topics in the links you provided and get back to you.

Seems odd that only your frum is having these issues so I assume it is just an error in the way your individual forum has its permissions set.

back soon

I'm sure you know this forumate but you will need to remove every part of the Ajax chat first before installing mchat.

tanduay customized the ajax chat himself (several times) so there will probably be more locations for file edits than shown in the install file of the ajax chat mod (especially the sound as that was not an original part of the mod)

Use the login link next to contactform ....that works
