Thanks for that, is it possible to move it over to another host or will it be safe on here now?

Hi, I had a group http://ukval.noonhost.com/index.php on here up until a couple of months ago when it just suddenly disappeared, I really want it back again but don't know how or who to turn to, although the group wasn't very old it had a lot of information on it and since the back up system didn't work I couldn't keep backups of the group.  I am happy to move it to a different host but who do I see to get the data so I can put it on a different host site?
I hope you can help me with this, had I known it was going to get closed down I would have manually copied all the data :'(

Hi ForumMate I have/had a group http://ukval.noonhost.com/index.php and it just suddenly disappeared without any warning and because the backup wasn't working I have pretty much lost everything that was on there, is there a likelihood of you getting this back up and running, and if not is there any way to get the data from the forum so I can put it up on another host site?

I really hope this can be sorted out pretty soon as I am losing members who need the site to work 24/7 :no6xn:

Hi dutch.download,

How about your forums?
We just changed it a little.
But we disabled ACP backup/restore. Don't worry your forums database are safe:smiley-laughing:
Hi Tanduy, I also have been getting the bad gateway problem, but it hasn't appeared for a few days now.  When you say the forums database is safe does that mean we car restore from there if something bad were to happen.  I really cannot afford to lose the data on my board.  I have performed daily backups until you disabled it but I am guessing I would not be able to use the restore file on my hard drive.  Do you have a time scale for this facility being reinstated?

Sorry for the slow reply,  I have now decided to just leave it on no account activation until we have a 24 hour cover by admins so they can activate new members.

Quote from: tanduy2506;541297So sorry,:smiley-frown:

Your forum name was changed, right?
I'm not sure whether there is a problem with your information or not.
Could you check E-mail settings again?

I have looked and all is as I set it origionally, the Email address has not changed with the board name change

I can't see how it would be the settings if some received activation mails and some didn't either all would or none would surely?
I have set it to no activation now to stop this issue because I can't afford all the upset among members, most of them being a bit senior and not that happy around the internet even without problems.  There have been a few who have not bothered to come back since registering because in their words it is "too complecated"

THank you for the feedback, that helps a lot  :smiley-cool:

I'm not sure if I'm missing a trick here, but is it possible to give another Admin access to most of the Admin CP without making them founder members?  I have tried to give another Admin control but without making him a founder member which would mean he could remove me ( I trust him but you never know) all he can see is Admin news and Manage pages.  I want him to be able to change things when I am away.
If I make him a founder member he gets all the access he wants.

Also is there any way to change the message on the Portal page in the Welcome to my Board! box?

The problem of no activation mail returned when I had a lot of new members trying to join over the last two days, some got their activation mail and others didn't.  I have activated their accounts, but it is causing them to think the site is going to be problematic. I am worried they might be right and I have put a lot of hours into making things right for my needs..

phpBB Support Forum / Forum page width
March 04, 2012, 06:44:37 PM
One of my members has reported problems with the header not displaying correctly on her net book, is there a way to correct this IE, a universal page width, or is it set to just one size.
The main content is OK, but there are bits missing in other areas.  I haven't seen it on her net book but she explained that part of the board description was missing

phpBB Support Forum / Hiding members

I have noticed that anyone looking at my forum can view the members list.  Is there a way to hide them from everyone apart from other members?
I don't want them to be visible to unregistered visitors
