Hello freeforum.ca,

i searched and found nothing..

we (Index) try to backup the forum, but we cant restore it on another server, we need an normal backup of the forum, like MySQL Dump (gz or .sql).

I, also, am interested to know what type of file the backups are.
They don't appear to be SQL.

and wth no SQL? Is that no MySQL Server? Not sure but that isnt good for an hoster, who says " No normal dumps of our forums, you must use our system"...

ok now normal, why they cant give us an .sql backup via mail or pn? We need only a sql backup not more to create an forum on our own server with all data  from the old forum...

and where is the reson? Every databaseserver can create sql files... with the backup from the acp (i think its an own function) we cant restore the database (only on freeforum.ca works it)...

Or can u give me an link to an mod how can create the same backup and restore?

You don't need to send us your money. You'll always have a free forum here. As other service, you will need to pay if you want to remove ads on your forum, or get the backup up .sql
