To make a chat box, you must go to http://xatech.com/web_gear/chat.php#top then choose a background and size, press the Update button and copy the code in the textbox next to "Embed code".

Hi, this is a short instruction on how to install external chat box.
1. Go to AdminCP > BBcode > create a new BBcode
BBcode usage:

2. Go to Forums administration > put the above BBcode tags into the forum descriptions.

2. No, you don't have to disable the ajax chatbox. Just create a new forum or edit any forum, then put the [chatbox][/chatbox] BBcode into the forum descriptions.

It is because the shoutbox can display a maximum of 5 messages per page.

That is not possible because the ajax shoutbox is different with the xatech chatbox.

xat is a chat room not a chat box so its not like the ajax, xat is mainly for live chatting but if you want a chat box for just normal chatting which anyone can use at anytime just search for some decent ones out there as i know theres quite a few
