CAPTCHA user registration problem

I can't disable the CAPTCHA User Registration option.
I mean I can disable it but it doesnt work.

Hi,
CAPTCHA prevent your forum from auto spam bots.
We don't allow to disable it for many reasons.

Hope you understand.

have you reduced the background and foreground noise ?
Configure CAPTCHAs:> GD CAPTCHA background noise x-axis: set to 0
GD CAPTCHA background noise y-axis: set to 0 > submit
Once done it rests to 25 but it makes reading it a whole lot easier
