You do not have the required permissions to read topics within this forum

Hello everyone!

I am having this problem that is driving me insane. I cant read forums. It says:

You do not have the required permissions to read topics within this forum.

I am the administrator and I already made sure all the permissions are appropiate. I am supposed to read the forum no problem. A friend signed in and I made him a Global moderator, checked all the permissions and everything, but he is getting the same message.

Any idea?

Thank you very much

Alex.

When you first created a category did you set the permissions ?
If permissions are not set when creating a category or forum they will not show.
My advice is go to
Acp > forums > the first category that is shown in the list click the green edit icon > on this page change to category > press submit > a green box will appear > where it says "Now you are able to set permissions for this forum".> click > the administrator permissions set to full access > apply all permissions > click back on the forum and see if it is displayed > if not you will need to then do the same with the forums.
The forums will need to have the category name as the parent.

Hope this will help you.

Let me know if you still have this problem.

Beforehand, I want to thank you for answering. Unfortunately, the problem is not there. I have experience with forums and this is really strange. I will attach all the images for the forum permissions and settings (in this case, I will attach the permission for the category). Permissions for forums that are parent to the category have the same permissions.

Please, see if you get to see anything wrong. If not, what else could it be. I deleted the whole category with forums within and created them back again little by little pressing attention to each detail, from creating to permission. i still get the same message.

Thank you very much.

Alex.

Hi Alex,
Your forum is dodamericas.forummate.com, isn't it?
There is something not right, we're still checking it.

Do you set anything differently for permissions?
Thanks.

Hi Tanduy, thank you for answering. Yep, that is my forum.

I didn't really do anything with permissions. This is exactly how it went:

Created category and 3 forums within, changed style and added and deleted blocks. Then I tried to figure out how the announcement block worked and I read that I had to post a global announcement I tried posting one and I did it. Unfortunately it didn't show on the announcement block. I didn't really worry about it that time and when I went back to post hours later I got the "You do no have...." error. Then I asked a friend to join, gave him global mod permissions and he got the same error. Checked every permission and really didn't understand where the error was. I also get errors when I try to send a block up or down. Not every block gives me error, but some does.

Suddenly started behaving weird and I actually started messing with permissions AFTER this message started appearing.

Let me know what else I can help you with.

Alex.
