2 questions which can hopefully be answered
Forum address enigmaticparadigm.com
1. When I first go to my sites address, there is a big blue banner that covers the entirety of the screen, saying 'register or log in', except the login button is hidden behind the banner. Can that banner be disabled? 2. Is it possible for a new post to be recognised as such, for longer than a few hours? On my forum, when I click 'new posts' it only shows recent posts for a tiny while, then shows absolutely nothing because I assume they're no longer new. Can the period for a post or topic to be considered 'new', be extended at all? Thanks, in advance |

That's new mod I added. I just think it's no need option to enable/disable. I'll fix it tomorrow. Quote:
I'll take a look what you said. Do I misunderstand?

What I think is happening is as you have looked at the new post it will no longer show as new to you but any member that has not viewed the post it will still remain new to them regardless of the time and the list should continue to grew until viewed. Here's an example of a forum I last visited on the 13th of November, clicking on it today lists every post since my last visit you will notice there are nearly 250 new posts since my last visit. This is the top of the 1st page of new posts This is the bottom of the 1st page...note the amount of pages x 25 posts You will see the post date of when the first post was made since my last visit If any member has not logged in for a while they can still see what they have missed since last logging in.

Just adding to this topic since you helped me in the past.
But my forum has started showing me these error messages whenever I create a new post or topic. Any ideas what would cause this to start showing up?? Thanks, guys Last edited by scottykillak : 02-15-2012 at 11:11 PM. |
