Nginx 502 bad gateway / 504 gateway timeout
Guys,
can't you put something general on your support forum and the progression regarding these problems because it's getting very annoying to check if there's some improvement. Members of my forum are complaining and they are right, even if the service you provide is free to many of us however it creates expectations. And it's shocking to find out that although the lightweight Nginx should outperform the HTTP1.1 webservers like Apache and IIS if not implemented the right way then the older situation was not bad at all for a free service. Now it's all gotten worse Regards, Admin atc3.noonhost.com Last edited by dutch.download : 02-12-2012 at 10:53 AM. |

The answer to your question is yes, but we are not always here 24/7 to know there is a problem. As you know we try to be on the support forum at the weekend or days off and you can not expect us to be mind readers and know there is a problem until we get here. Next week I will buy a crystal ball and Tanduy can post a message in advance of any problem. ![]() Yes there are problems but until Tanduy can find out the cause I am none the wiser, but I am sure they will be sorted as quickly as possible. Please be patient

I even find it insulting and I don't expect sucha answer from a super moderator.
Like Tanduy said they were changing the webservers so with every change in the infrastructure one knows that after applying sucha change there can and most of the time will loom incidents. Changes like these switching to different software or adding stuff like reverse proxies etc can be anounced ahead because these changes are not implemented without preperation and I already reported some errors which were related to changes being made. So when people are reporting problems then it's nothing more then being a good host to put something on the support forum so people are able to track the progression. I'm not complaining about something I could find an answer for myself this is total out of our hands and control. Even if services are free like I said and Forummate is using the Free services for testing implementations before they implement it for payed hosting services even then this is no way of answering requests from members. Hi Tanduy,
Thanks for our reply and I know this is also not of your doing. And let's hope your boss will acknowledge that the change to Nginx is not went without problems and support his department and people and to get a little priority to fix the problems this switch to Nginx has caused. I know that if this was a problem you could fix you would do it because you allways have given the members excellent support and still do. We will wait and hope we will soon run, at least the same performance as before. |

Could you check your forum again, dutch.download, gele, ramook. We just disabled backup script temporary. When it runs, it make the server slower. We're trying to fix that.

Hi Tanduy,
I've been checking the forum and so far i've had no more 502 bad gateway or 504 gateway timeout. Furthermore it looks like the performance is at least as it was before but I can't time it because I have no comparison figures. But it looks like the biggest problems are solved. I will continue to monitor the coming days. Thanks so far. Regards, Max aka dutch.download (admin atc3.noonhost.com) |
