placing new groups on my board

Hi

I have just made a new forum on the practical aspects of fish keeping and want to put on a few groups such as:
New Set ups
Water Chemistry
Planting your Tank
Tropical Tanks
Marine Tanks

How do I do this please?

Shirley

Go into the Administration control panel > click on forums (tab) >type the name of the forum in the box > click create new forum > a new page opens > forum type = category > scroll to the bottom of the page click submit > a green success box will appear > click on set permissions > press ctrl and alt on your keyboard and highlight the groups with your mouse > click add permissions > using the drop down box select the permissions for each of the groups > click apply all permissions.

go back to the forums tab and click > click on the category name that you just created > now you can go through the same process as above but click on forums for the forum type > the permissions for these will be set as the same as the category.

If it helps you understand use this support forum as an example

General = category
News and Announcements = forum
Customer Feedback = forum
Abuse Reports = forum
Free Forum Hosting FAQs = forum

PHPBB - Free Forum Hosting = category
phpBB3 Manuals and Guides = forum
phpBB Support Forum = forum
TEXTO DE AYUDA EN ESPAŅOL =forum

Hope this helps

Paul
