How do I make bots go away?

I notice there's a section for managing bots and spiders. However I'm not sure how to keep them out. Most of the sections on my forum will be private, and I do NOT want bots reading or indexing them. How do I make sure they can't?

Thanks!

You can do this when adding the permissions
The normal would be bot access but you can change this to No role assigned

Thanks for your help. And forgive me, I'm horribly new at this. Where specifically do I change that?

No worries mate we all started like you and are not expected to know these things.
To change permissions you need to go into the Admin control panel.

ACP > Permissions (tab) > Forum based permissions (left column) > Groups’ forum permissions

Lookup usergroup > select bots from the dropdown box > submit

tick the all forums box > submit > you will now see a list of your categories and forums >
change the ones you don't want the bot to access to "No role assigned" for the ones you do want the bot to set to "Bot Access".
