When you say closed do you mean so members can not post in it anymore ?
If so you can use the quick mod tools to lock the forum

Is there a mod that does this ?
Are they to be put after the icon by the user or admin/ moderator ?

just had a thought......are you able to make your own icons ?
if you can Tanduy may be able to add them to the forum icons as a pak

You want to lock topic? As Pauil said, you can use "Quick-mod tools"
